# Get a transaction receipt

> Returns the receipt, or `null` if this endpoint has no receipt for the transaction yet. Require a successful receipt and compare its block number against `consensus_status.finalized.number`; then check that the canonical block at that height matches `receipt.blockHash` before treating the result as final.
