# Get consensus status

> Returns the current Simplex epoch, round, leader, execution head, finalized block, and this node's latest signed round. For settlement decisions, require a successful receipt, compare its block number against `finalized.number`, and check that the canonical block at that height matches `receipt.blockHash`. A transaction hash can be computed before submission and does not establish finality.
